Clearances
The design for our new kitchen includes a wall oven/microwave. It fits into the kitchen as shown below:
It became obvious right away that there was insufficient clearance between the above oven cabinet doors and the beam. No problem. Our cabinetmaker simply lowered the cabinet doors a smidgen.
Then it was time to install the wall oven. Oops. The oven didn't fit. It ran into the above oven cabinet doors.
What to do? Well, today the cabinetmakers were back out. They simply cut down the cabinet doors, re-stained the exposed edge, and everything is hunky dory.
You might notice the live edge white ash shelves added in to the right of the oven. The wood for these was harvested from our yard.
And the live edge, riddled with insect tracks, tells the story of the emerald ash borer that killed a dozen or more trees on our property.
