White ash shelves

We are fortunate to have woodworkers in the family.  They have provided such helpful advice for us.  This weekend we were able to take that relationship one step further and use the wood shop of one of our talented kinfolk.  This was particularly handy as we were eyeing his 12" planer to smooth out our rough-milled ash boards.  Here's what happened:

I have to admit that there is something supremely satisfying about knowing this tree that provided shade and enjoyment for our family and the local wildlife for many years before it succumbed to the Emerald Ash Borer will now be part of our home.
